Total Recall (1990)
2048 Simple hard worker Doug Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) wants to experience the unknown and turns to a company where, by influencing the brain, you can acquire other people's memories - for example, about traveling to Mars as a secret agent. After the session, everything changes in Doug's life. He actually ends up on Mars, where he takes part in the most dangerous adventures. The frantic pace of the action takes your breath away, and there is no time left to think about where reality is and where is illusion. Sophisticated Oscar-winning special effects give Dutch director Paul Verhoeven's fantasy true grandeur and scope, and the film itself, based on a story by the famous science fiction writer Philip K. Dick, becomes something more than a standard futuristic action film.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
More than ten years have passed since the cyborg terminator from 2029 tried to destroy Sarah Connor, the woman whose unborn son would win humanity's war against the machines. Now Sarah has a son, John, and the time when he will lead the surviving people to fight the machines is inexorably approaching. It is at this moment that a new terminator arrives from the post-apocalyptic future - practically invulnerable and capable of taking on any form. The goal of the new terminator is no longer Sarah, but the destruction of young John Connor. However, John's chances of salvation increase significantly when a previous generation terminator reprogrammed by the resistance comes to the rescue. Both cyborgs enter into a mortal battle, on the outcome of which the fate of humanity depends.
