12-year-old Moscow schoolboy Volka, while swimming in the Moscow River, finds some kind of ancient sealed vessel. The boy's curiosity is so strong that at the first opportunity Volka opens it, and a fabulous genie appears from the vessel - Hassan Abdurahman ibn Hottab. Because Volka saved him from two thousand years of imprisonment, the genie, nicknamed the boy Hottabych, becomes his faithful servant. He tries to make a gift to the boy by driving a whole caravan of camels with countless treasures to his house. Together they will make an exciting flight to India on a magic magic carpet...
