The action of this film takes place before the events described in The Silence of the Lambs and before the appearance of Clarice Starling. We meet the man who caught Hannibal Lecter - FBI Special Agent Will Graham. After Lecter's arrest, which nearly cost Graham his life, Will leaves the Bureau.
