In a certain kingdom there lived a green giant, Shrek. He was known as an unsociable grump, and even a cannibal. Shrek's only friend was Donkey, loyal, devoted, but extremely talkative. He was ready to do anything for the sake of the giant, but he just couldn’t bring himself to shut up. One day, uninvited guests appeared in the secluded home of the green giant Shrek - fairy-tale characters from the neighboring state of Duloc. Little piglets ran around the house, and an evil gray wolf nestled comfortably in Shrek's bed. When the evil ruler Lord Farquad seized power in Duloc, he banished all fairy tales from the kingdom. The heroes of fairy tales became homeless wanderers. The mischievous Farquad wants to marry the beautiful princess Fiona to become king. But the princess does not want to become his wife. Together with Donkey, Shrek goes to Duloc to save the princess and return homes to the piglets and the wolf.
