He is an expert. An expert on weapons, knives and his own body. He is a man specially trained to ignore pain and weather conditions. He is trained to be unpretentious, to eat things that would make a goat puke. In Vietnam, his mission was to destroy enemy personnel. Kill a lot. Exhaust the enemy's strength until complete victory. Rambo was the best. In the war he was a hero, but in his homeland, in whose name blood was shed, no one needs him. Unable to adapt to civilian life, Rambo hitchhikes through American cities, meeting fellow soldiers. The journey is stopped by a provincial sheriff who hates tramps. Imprisoned on false charges, having tasted humiliation from the administration, Rambo declares war, war on the existing attitude towards veterans, the lawlessness of official structures and the head of the local police personally. Having made a fantastic escape from prison, John begins a guerrilla war in the local forests. Very soon the situation gets out of control of the authorities and regular army units are brought into the small town. John Rambo's former combat commander could only give one piece of advice: "Since you brought so many people here, then prepare more body bags."
