Rusty Griswold is a young father and an exemplary family man who really wants to bring his family together and recreate the holidays from his childhood. Together with his wife and two sons, he decides to make an unforgettable journey across the country, the ultimate goal of which will be the best theme park in America. Having carefully planned everything, they set off on the road, hoping that a very fun and exciting journey awaits them. At the beginning of the journey, everything goes as well as possible, but the further they move away from home, the more problems await them ahead.
