Taxi Driver (1976)
The dim light of blind lanterns, the skeletons of factory chimneys choking in their own smoke, the Babylonian towers of skyscrapers. All this is the hell of the New Age, New York. Vietnam War veteran Travis Bickle drives his lonely taxi through the endless streets of the city at night, and a grim panorama of human sins unfolds before him. Like an Old Testament prophet, he hopes that one day the heavens will send a saving rain to the earth that will cleanse New York of centuries-old dirt. And when hope dies, only hatred remains. A shower of fire will fall on the heads of sinners. The taxi driver will take care of it...
The Social Network (2010)
Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in the world, owner and creator of the unprecedented social network Facebook. More recently, he was a "nerd" and an outsider who was not invited to exclusive Harvard clubs. A daring idea that began as hooliganism helped Mark and his programmer friends come up with an unusual project and build a cutting-edge business. Ahead of these boys lay the main test: huge money.
Sense and Sensibility (1995)
The story of the life and love of two sisters - the sensual Elinor and the passionate Marianne, whose happiness and future are overshadowed by the death of their father and the loss of the family's huge fortune. This is a story of a conflict of desires and the strict rules of bourgeois society, which cruelly condemned any manifestation of sensual desires and pronounced a harsh sentence of snobbish puritanism.
Reluctant Volunteers (1981)
John lives a calm, quiet life, working as a taxi driver in New York for many years. But his life gradually began to crumble: first, his girlfriend left him, then he was fired from his job and his car was taken away, and on top of all this, he was deeply in debt. However, John does not become depressed and decides, together with his friend Russell, to join the US armed forces. They are simply confident that the army will make real men out of them, help them raise their self-esteem, and most importantly, make them more attractive in the eyes of women. But as it turned out, military service was not at all what they imagined. Ahead of them lies great physical activity, intensive training, and the study of various types of military training. Despite all this, young people continue to remain inveterate pranksters, managing to come up with more and more new pranks in such an environment...
Oliver! (1968)
Oliver prefers to live on the streets rather than in a shelter. He falls into a good “family” of thieves and becomes a pickpocket.
Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
Army Lieutenant Frederick Manion is arrested for the murder of bar owner Barney Quill. He claims that the bartender beat and raped his wife Laura. And, although Laura fully confirms her husband's version, the forensic expert cannot find evidence of her rape. Paul Bigler, a modest provincial lawyer, is assigned to defend Mainon. The accused does not cooperate; the case is being handled by a judge from another city. Bigler understands that a very difficult process lies ahead, and he does not have many chances to win the case...
