Alien: Romulus to be released on VHS

Get ready to dust off your VCR and clean the heads, because Alien: Romulus is coming to VHS as a limited edition on December 3rd, coinciding with its other physical releases. Director Fede Alvarez made the announcement during a special Beyond Fest-partnered screening in Los Angeles yesterday.

The “fully functional VHS tape” marks 45 years since the Alien franchise first burst onto the big screen, according to a press release from 20th Century Studios sent to The Verge. The tape will feature the film in a 4:3 aspect ratio, likely with a well-executed pan-and-scan, and will come packaged in a sleek, vintage-style sleeve.
